Description

Real life kyogre!

Ditto transformed as a Kyogre

Kyogre is Misty's strongest Pokémon. At the end of Cerulean Gym, she calls out a Kyogre in front of Joey and Maruto. Later it is mentioned that Mewthree was controlling Kyogre which in turn was actually controlling Misty, and by defeating Kyogre Misty is released as well. Unfortunately, it is not catchable and never will be. Kyogre is in the possession of Maruto, as stated in the cutscene of Route 24, so it can be transported to Cinnabar Island. Once you have defeated Cinnabar Island, it will leave for Pallet town to see Professor Oak, it is then never seen again in the game.

Kyogre has two big pectoral fins or "wings", each ending with four square-shaped tips or "fingers". It has a deep blue body and a white chin area with two small spikes protruding under it. Above each eye are two white, oval-shaped spots. It has red marking stripes around the chin area, eyes, dorsal fins, torso, and on its fins. These stripes glow when Kyogre is brimming with power. The pattern or symbol on the pectoral fins somewhat resembles an Ω symbol. The tail seems tattered with four trailing parts, the inner ones being smaller than the outer. It also has a mouth full of rarely seen, sharp, triangular teeth. Its eyes are small, yellow, and shadowed with black, like those of Groudon and Rayquaza.

Trivia

  • Some people hacked the game in the early development of PTD 1 in order to obtain Kyogre, so Sam banned Kyogre in the trade system, but some got through Sam's system and Normal and Shiny Kyogre still exist in PTD 1.
  • In Alpha v3.2 of PTD 1, Sam transferred everyone's accounts which had over 800,000 Pokémon, 7,000 of them were Kyogre, which were deleted.
  • Kyogre was the first 3rd Generation Pokémon to ever be in PTD 1, although only as a boss. It was also the first non-1st Generation Pokémon to appear in PTD 1 (followed by Celebi, the Legendary Dogs, Groudon, and Victini).
