As the name implies, this is a move exclusively for Muk; more specifically, the Giant Muk in Fuchsia Gym. Koga's Giant Muk also use this move in Elite 4.
The move's type is listed in-game as Extreme Poison.
Muk's Gas will not affect Poison-type pokemon. Transforming a Ditto into a Giant Muk will allow it to KO the Drowsee in Fuchsia Gym, but it cannot effect Muk, and Muk's Gas will still affect a transformed target, making the reason to use a Ditto nearly pointless.

Trivia
- When version 6.1.1 came out, lots of people hacked the HP bars of boss Pokémon to make them catchable. When the giant Muk in Fuchsia Gym was captured, Muk's Gas was changed to Protect.
